Yay I finally woke up!
With aching muscles though, I should start blogging about yesterday night and this morning before I forget! ahhaha...
Yesterday we went to play L4D, haha but it wasnt long before I have to leave. Anyway, I reached Tampines Mrt Station at 6.40pm, I had to be there by 7.30pm, so i knew Im still early. According to the website I researched on the location of TWCC, I could take bus 291 or 293 to the destination. However, I wanted to explore tampines, which is quite foreign to me. As I was walking along the streets, I noticed that the atmosphere and the surroundings, though similar to the west, but it does carry a different feeling. As I walked past the fun fair, I could see many mini games I used to play when I was a kid, and it does give me a nostalgic feeling.
Anyway, since I was still early, and my memory could recall the map of tampines(from the website), more or less I could make my way to the place. I walked past tampines central, and reached a junction where the stadium is. By then, I had officially declared that I do not know the place well. Anyway, I asked an aunty where is TWCC, and she said there are many community centres around and she does not know the specific name. So, from what I recall, I remembered that TWCC is kinda near St Hilda's. So I asked her where is St Hilda's. She asked me to walk straight from the junction. So... I strolled through the streets. And finally I reached the place. I was early, at 7.10pm. So I read my book, and waited for my team to arrive. Then I saw Nightingales, and they said Hi to me, and then we moved up to the court.
I was so glad to see starsky and SM there as well. Looks like they are really passionate and eager to improve, and as Nighthawk's team leader, I felt very pleased. Anyway, the first thing they told me is "Eh we won 6-0!" and then the second thing was "We have only 4 person". And then I recalled, from what Miss Nice told me, that anyone can anyhow chapalang join a team, and it doesnt matter how many teams u join etc. So I went to collect a blue shirt(despite I am red) and sign in my name at the form.
First match with Falcons was great, it was a comfortable victory and we really had lots of fun. The venue was air-conditioned, but din really post a problem as I got used to Republic Poly's court, which is also air conditioned.
Then, my team arrived with the red shirts, and let me tell you that, my team is a bunch of great people. They are very fun loving and very accepting. Well, we are the team 11B! hahha it consists of : Joseph, Yi Hong, Joel, Zach and Me! Surprisingly, our first match is against falcons. Everyone was just having fun. And to keep up the pace with SM and Starsky isnt easy. We imported Yanto as our 6th player that match. Kinda fun.. hahaha. Anyway, we won all our 3 matches, credits to everyone who played as a team. And I am very pleased, that when I play with them, I can trust them, I do not need to dribble much and show any individual flair. Because their support and movement compliments me.
After the matches, I got really bored, so I offered to ref for some matches, to train my decision making too. Was kinda rusty, because some shots taken are really fast and they hit the inner pole and come out. Couldnt judge from far whether the goal was conceded anot. Anyway, I think that I am kinda kayu to a certain extent but I was really trying my best. I was getting more and more tired and my fever was coming back. Anyway, when the 2hr nonstop floorball match started. I did ask Mr Ngasti whether I can play. He told me that he registered 6 players for each team and they are going for record setting. So, I went to slack awhile before coming back to the court. When I was back to the court. I noticed that JB's team, was only left with 5 players. Mr Ngasti walked by and asked me whether I am still interested to play. Wow Wow Wow... I swear I was high. Anyway, it was great exposure, we had very slow line changes because everyone was conserving energy. It wasnt easy for Angela, who had to ref a 2hr long game, and watch every foul and goal. My team consists of Joseph, Zul, Fairis, and two more pasirian guys, whom 1 of them is the captain. They are very nice people, and the captain keep making jokes with me. I would say that Pasirian has really improved alot since the last time I played against them.
After the record setting, we were pretty zombified. But the more tired I am, the more I want to play, haha, so anyhow just chapalang some teams. Then, I was talking to Mr Ngasti, about floorball, the sideboards, how he started the team and how he manages it. I would say, he is really a very great guy, and he even offered to pay me for refereeing the match. He told me the little little details on how he manages his players. He said that players need respect before they will respect you, and I find it kinda true. As Innova's coach, and the tactician of Nighthawks, oftenly, I was commanding alot, and not respecting the players, whether they like it or not, thats how I am going to play the game. Well, results had proven my failure, although I might have the best tactics in the world, but I lack personal touch with the team. Mr Ngasti told me that he funds the team as well, and helps the poorer players. Well, Im still a student.. so... my team pays 65 bucks per season, and 5-10 dollars per training. I know that it is quite tough, and has thus obstructed many committed players from coming due to financial reasons. Mr Ngasti also taught me what is perseverance, patience and endurance, when it comes to setting up a team. In the past, whenever I see him playing against my team, be it YJC during A div, or Pasirian, I used to belittle him, maybe because of his appearance or for dont know what reason. But as I was talking to him, those players who was going home went and kiss his hand goodbye, and I could say, they truly respect him and have a good relationship with him. Then, it reminded me that players do respect Mr Amir too, and Filip. And thats when I realised, how good these coaches are, it is not about their tactics and drills only, its about caring for one another, and it kind of ashamed me, that although I am a christian, but sometimes, I dont really care.
Well, after talking to him, I was kind of tired, so I just took a cab home to sleep.
What I ate for the day : 2 siew mais, 1 double hamburger plain, 1 packet of dry noodles
So happy, I avoided spicy and seafood, and also cut down on calories intake.
Well, if there is an event like this next year, I will definitely join again!
